This place was so fantastic, I redownloaded Yelp just to write them a review! My boyfriend and I went last night after seeing a good review on TikTok, and we were not disappointed. The service was phenomenal, everyone was SO attentive, knowledgeable, and kind. Seriously, the staff is 11/10. We chatted a little bit with two of the female staff, one worked behind the bar and the other I believe worked in the kitchen (I wish I remembered their specific names because I would love to shout them out), and told them that we were new to Houston and had just recently moved, as well as some things we have done in the area and general small talk. They ended up sending over two glasses of champagne for my boyfriend and I as a welcoming to the city, and when they brought us the dessert that we ordered, they gave us an entire free dessert! As for the food, we ordered the coconut shrimp, the spicy ahi tuna roll, and 2 crab cakes. The coconut shrimp, ahi tuna roll, and both desserts (we ordered the lemon tarte and they added on some kind of cake. I can't remember the name of it because they told us the desserts verbally!) were fantastic, but the crab cake was literally the best crab cake I've ever had. We went to Alaska about a month ago, and the crab cake at Balboa surpassed a literal Alaskan king crab cake. The drinks I ordered were a cosmo, a hugo spritz, and an espresso martini, and the hugo spritz was seriously better than the ones I got in Paris! All drinks were great. I truly never write reviews for anywhere, but this place absolutely deserves every bit of attention. The atmosphere, service, quality and taste of food, and overall experience were AMAZING, and we will undoubtedly be returning. Anybody considering going, DON'T HESITATE!!! You will not be disappointed in the slightest!!! I cannot recommend it enough. And get the crab cake!!!

Visited June 2024. Was here in October 2023 and this is still a great place. Self parking is ample or you can valet. Food was fantastic as it was on my first visit. Crispy oysters were tasty and had a slight kick. Scallops and crab cake are not to be missed! Service was focused and fast. A little noisy but not too much. Had reservations and had to wait 25 minutes for a table, but the wait was worth it. Will be going back.

Had a phenomenal time at Balboa Surf Club! The food was fantastic, the interior is modern and beautiful, and the service was truly top notch. Kayla was the best - knowledgeable, friendly, and was on top of it during our dining experience despite a decently busy night. For example, we had the baja seafood cocktail, and it comes with 4 large chips, but my family soon realized that we'd need more than 4 chips to go through the cocktail. We didn't even have to ask, and Kayla came by with more chips so we could continue enjoying our app. The crab cake is amazing!! Seriously, so good. It's packed with crab and paired with the sauce on the plate - every bite feels like savory heaven. The thai shrimp roll is solid and unique, but there are ultimately better things to get on the menu than this roll. Regardless of what you get, everything is extremely fresh here. Every bite was so light yet packed with so much flavor! It's rare that I thoroughly enjoy upscale dining, but Balboa Surf Club has won my heart. Already looking forward to the next time I get to dine here!

One of our favorite go to at the galleria area. The restaurant is chill, service is superb and the food is always on point. We like going there for a quick meal without a fuss.

After reading other reviews I was a little hesitant but they were the only place that had an available reservation for our party of 4 at the time we needed. I am so happy we gave it a try!!!! Now I can't wait to go back. The ambiance and decor are on point! The service was very good! They gave great recommendations and were very friendly. We loved our chilled glasses being refreshed half way through the drink (a nice touch). NOW FOR THE FOOD! Appetizers: seafood cocktail and crunchy oysters were both on point! We also got 2 orders of sushi to share (salmon and tuna). So good! I would put either up against Nobu any day. Next time I think I'll just get the sushi. So fresh and clean tasting! All the main entrees were delicious and beautifully plated. Two of us had the scallops, 1 sea bass, & 1 sword fish. All were great. We also had cocktails but I don't remember which ones we had. Give it a try.

Went today for a friend's birthday dinner. Love the ambiance: it's very aesthetic and has a nice vibe. There's indoors and a cute patio outside with a small fountain outside so it looks very lit at night. 10/10 The food is a little pricey - I ordered the roasted chicken which has a potato puree on the side and a sauce it was really delicious the chicken was cooked perfectly, it was soft and the skin crispy outside. 10/10 Other dishes ordered were rainbow trout, tuna burger, and coconut shrimp - everything was good! The service was good too 9/10 There's free valet parking on site!
